VMMC Employees Cooperative conducts Compliance Seminar in Basic Accounting

            The Veterans Memorial Medical Center Employees Cooperative (VMMCEC), in collaboration with the Quezon City Union of Cooperatives (QCUC), successfully conducted the CDA Compliance Seminar entitled “Basic Accounting for Non-Accountants” on October 12-13, 2017 at the Fullon Hall.

           The two-day seminar was participated by thirty (30) employees from the different sections, divisions and services of the hospital.  Ms. Virginia R. Atienza and Emma H. Bernardo of the QCUC served as resource persons during the seminar.  Ms. Atienza shared her wealth of experience and expertise in business accounting and finances as well as other related concerns for cooperative development while Ms. Bernardo discussed the importance of cooperatives in the community and its development. She also stressed the significance of seminar/ training not only in complying with the existing laws, rules and regulations of the CDA but also in providing members of cooperatives with the entrepreneurial capabilities, managerial expertise, and technical skills required for the efficient operation of their cooperatives.

            The seminar included lecture/discussion and workshop where the participants were able to practice the techniques and skills imparted by the speakers during the discussion. The seminar proved to be very enlightening and productive to the participants as they looked forward to another CDA compliance seminar in the future.
