In connection with the observance of the National Flag Day and “Araw ng Kalayaan on June 12 , a Flag Raising Ceremony was held at the Basilio Valdes Hall of the hospital on Monday, June 11, 2018 attended by the hospital staff.
The celebration of the National Flag Day culminated last May 28 in Imus, Cavite. The Flag Day celebration in Imus is a prelude to June 12 Independence Day activities and festivities at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, a neighboring municipality.
After the flag raising ceremony, VMMC Director Dominador M. Chiong gave a short talk.He mentioned that VMMC will conduct an ISO Certification for ISO 2008:2015 in July He stressed that the Quality Policy must be memorized by every employees of the hospital. He also instructed that the service providers i.e. security guards and janitors should be able to memorize the quality policy of the hospital. He said that if VMMC fails to get a certification from ISO, there will be no bonus. He jokingly said, “doon natin kukunin sa kanila ang PBB natin”. He called for the utmost cooperation of every employee to be ready for the visit of AJA Auditors and to make the ISO accreditation a success.
Director Chiong announced that the drugs and medicines have been procured, but only a part of the P 50M grant by President Duterte. He also said that in order to utilize these drugs and medicines by the veteran patients, they are planning to conduct a caravan to reach the veterans in far flung provinces. The provinces that are to be visited are Batangas, Laguna, Cavite and Bulacan to be followed by Dumaguete, Bohol, Tuguegarao.
Under the National Flag Day, the law mandates to proudly display the Philippine flag in every office, agencies, and government buildings, business establishments, schools, and private homes. By doing this, we shall be reminded as Filipinos to reflect on our history in order to develop a deeper appreciation for what it stands for and view it with pride as a symbol of our national identity.
