In a simple turn-over ceremony held at the Main Lobby, JenCait Trading owner Mr. Toru Suzuki personally turned over 20 brand new wheelchairs to VMMC on June 13, 2018.


VMMC Director Dominador M. ChiongJr together with top officials of the hospital received the donation from the donors. The ceremony was formally opened with the invocation from VMMC Chaplain Reverend Father Emigdio A. Paredes. The welcome remarks was delivered by VMMC Assistant Director Franklin V. Gali. “ Thank you for choosing VMMC as one of your beneficiaries. The first mission of the hospital is patient care and your donation will redound to an improvement in patient care of the hospital.” remarked by Dr. Gali.


In her turn-over speech, Ms. Glenna Orbeta , General Manager of JenCait Trading said “ We would like to thank all of you for giving us the opportunity to donate our wheel chairs to VMMC. Being a daughter of a retired serviceman, I am very much aware of the requirements of our elderly retired servicemen. I hope that these wheelchairs will be of great use.”


Moreover, Mr. Suzuki in his message said that Japanese wheel chairs are technically very comfortable for the elderly. He also mentioned that their company also offers an array of medical and ambulatory devices for patients undergoing rehabilitation treatment.


Dr. Chiong in his acceptance speech expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the generosity of JenCait Trading.“ Thank you for your donation. Surely our veteran patients will benefit from these donations especially once the Emergency Ward will be operational.” he added.


After the program, the donors were accompanied by Dr. Chiong in a routine tour of various areas of the hospital which included the Medical Intermediate Treatment Unit, Medical Intensive Care Unit, Renal Dialysis Unit, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, among others.
