The Veterans Memorial Medical Center conducted the 3rd leg of its series of Medical Mission at the Capitol gymnasium in Malolos City, Bulacan on August 13, 2018.

          The VMMC Medical Team was  composed of 57 members (Doctors from Department of Medicine, Family Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Otorhinolaryngology, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics), nurses, dentists, pharmacists, dietitians and medical workers.

          The mission commenced with a short program prepared by the Office of the Bulacan Governor. Administrator Eugenio Payongayong officially welcomed the VMMC Medical Team. VMMC director Dr. Dominador M. Chiong Jr. In his message emphasized the marching order of President Rodrigo Duterte to provide free health care to all veterans and their dependents. Furthermore, MGen. Alfredo S. Cayton of Veterans Affairs Management Division, PVAO and Commodore Salvador Q. Esguerra of Veterans Federation of the Philippines (VFP) delivered their respective messages.

          A total of three hundred seventy five (375) patients were served during the mission (mostly medical; 5 patients availed of surgical consultation, 90 patients referred to EENT, 70 patients with rehabilitation concerns, 19 OB cases, 30 pediatric consultation; 34 dental extraction and 91 ECG procedures).

          Ninety (90) free eyeglasses and two (2) months maintenance medicines were given away to veterans and their dependents. Indigent patient who availed of medical services were given one (1) week supply of medicines.

          The next leg of Medical Mission will be conducted in the Samar on August 17, 2018.
