The Officers and members of Philippine Military Academy Magilas Class of 1976 spearheaded the Blessing of the two (2) newly-renovated Private Rooms Nos. 156 and 161in Ward 15 of the Veterans Memorial Medical Center.
VMMC Director Dr. DominadorM.ChiongJr.andMagilas Class ‘76 President Vice Admiral EmilioMarayag Jr AFP (Ret) led the ceremonial ribbon cutting while Reverend Father EmigdioA. Paredes officiated the blessing of the two fully furnished private rooms. In attendance to witness the event were top officials of the hospital as well as a handful spouses of the Mistahs.
After the blessing, the turn-over program was held at the CPMS Conference.
In his welcome remarks, Magilas Class ’76 Vice President PDirMagtanggolGatdula (Ret) said that sponsoring the renovation of the two (2) private rooms is their contribution to improvethe hospital stay of our beloved veterans who made great sacrifices during their active military duties.
Admiral Marayag meanwhile stated in his message that the renovation project manifests the Class utmost respect, genuine concern and full admiration to the Filipino veterans who are experiencing the tender loving of the VMMC community. He added that they also plan to sponsor the renovation of more private rooms at Ward-15.
On the other hand, the out-going Congressman Leopoldo Bataoil and incoming mayor of Lingayen, Pangasinan assured VMMC management of his continuous support to all initiatives and noble undertaking that would uplift the well-being of the Fililpino veterans and their families.
In his acceptance message, VMMC Director Chiong welcomed and conveyed his gratitude to the Magilas Class 76” On behalf of the VMMC community, I would like to thank Class 76 for this noble and generous donation. This is a very welcome addition to our facilities. For the past three (3) years, we have already prioritized our goals one of which is the upgrade and modernization of our hospital facility as part of our modernization facilities and equipment.” He said.
After the program, the Magilas Class members along with Dr. Chiongmade a short tour of some newly renovated areas of the hospital which included the Prostate and Stone Center, Ward -8, SICU and the Emergency Ward.
