The Pediatric Ward is a 40-bed capacity unit and has eight sections which includes: Adolescent male and female(6 beds each), isolation(4 beds),Newborn(2 beds), PICU(2 beds), Private rooms(4 beds), Respiratory(6 beds), Surgery(6 beds), and Miscellaneous(4 beds).
PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
This is a two bed capacity unit equipped with mechanical ventilators, infusion pumps and gadgets for resuscitation and monitoring. A Pediatric Intensive Care Specialist oversees the management of severely ill infants and children such as those requiring assisted ventilation, those requiring cardio-respiratory monitoring, post cardiac arrest patients, those with signs and symptoms of shock, CNS depressed patient with threat to cardio-respiratory function, those with renal failure necessitating dialysis, those with metabolic disorder requiring monitoring and evaluation or any other potentially reversible life threatening conditions.
The Veterans Memorial Medical Center is a Mother-Baby Friendly Hospital. It supports the rooming-in and breastfeeding program of the government. It upholds the right of the mother to breastfeed as well as the right of the infant to her breast milk.
Our Nursery advocates the worthy program of the Department of Health such as the Newborn Screening and Hepatitis B vaccination of all newborns within the first 24 hours of life.
NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
Our NICU provides comprehensive care to newborn infants with congenital and acquired conditions. Our dedicated Neonatologist, nurses and ancillary staff supported by adequate facilities allow us to care for preterm infants up to term with a variety of medical illnesses.
Pediatric Emergency Unit
Our 4-bed Pediatric Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days per week by doctors and registered nurses trained and capable of dealing with life threatening conditions of infants and children at any time of the day or night.

Pediatric Outpatient Clinic
The Pediatric Outpatient clinic offers health care services from newborn to adolescent period. A wide range of services are available for Veterans dependent, VMMC employees' dependent and civilian patients. The Unit operates on Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NOON and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
Both primary care and pediatric specialty care services are provided at the Pediatric Outpatient Clinic.
